RECOMMENDED ABSTRACT STRUCTURE:

1. The rationale of the research, thesis statement, the purpose of the research:

  • What is your research question?
  • Why can it be of interest to the readers?
  • What gaps in other research can it fill in terms of scientific, theoretical and practical implementation?

2. Methods/procedures/approaches:

  • What tools did the authors use to obtain the results?
  • Methods are outlined succinctly. For example: ‘Methods of comparisons and clustering were used; a series of surveys conducted among 80 students aged from 17 to 20 years was analyzed’.

3. Results/conclusions:

  • What has been determined/created/designed as a result of the procedures outlined in paragraph 2?
  • Specific data are presented. Logical connection between the results and methods should be evident.

4. Conclusion/application of the findings:

  • What are the major implications of the results/conclusions regarding the purpose stated in paragraph 1?
