THE PROBLEMS OF SIMULATION OF FIRE PROPAGATION

The problems associated with the modeling of fires are pointed out. The peculiarities of the spread of forest fires are underlined. The basic characteristics that influence the rate of spread of fire are stressed. Some of the software products that allow the estimation of the fire to spread are given. The role of communication in relation to the fire warning is pointed out.
