The article deals with the designing issues of the distributed decision support systems
(DSS). It was given a brief description of the main stages of DSS designing: identification,
conceptualization, formalization, implementation, and testing. It was offered a methodology
for selection of personal electronic computers (PC) for the implementation of the decision
support systems. The task of choosing a PC is formulated as a multiobjective optimization
problem whose solution is the recommended method of lexicographic ordering options.
