Taking into account the method of expert assessments in the intellectual decision support system for the purchase of a printed publication in the library fund of the university library

The reform of the higher education system obliges universities to be competitive in order to meet the necessary requirements imposed by the state on organizations engaged in the provision of educational services. As part of the implementation of the recommended mainly competence-based approach in teaching, the role of university libraries increases and, as a result, issues related to the acquisition of the library fund with popular educational literature come to the fore and become particularly relevant. Forced due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the transition to a distance learning format stimulated students to more actively use the library's resources. The intelligent decision support system developed and implemented in the scientific library of Orenburg State University responds to changes in the information needs of readers when completing the library collection. To improve the efficiency of the considered organizational and technical system, a study of the issued educational literature was conducted on the basis of the method of expert assessments to identify the most important book features of printed publications. For a more in-depth analysis and detailing of the results of the experiment, a comparison was made with the results of solving the problem of identifying the most significant characteristics of printed publications using data mining methods previously obtained by the authors. The similarity and differences in the patterns of the spread of the significance of the library characteristics of printed publications, obtained by the method of expert assessments and the method of building a decision tree using Data Mining, allowed us to suggest and justify the reasons for this phenomenon. Up-to-date data on issued printed publications served as an information base for the research.
